I've finished my final item for the last help haiti auction. One quilt, about 3'x3'.

I made a Baby Surprise Jacket (design by Elizabeth Zimmerman). It's fun - you knit one solid piece, then fold it and seam the sleeves to make the sweater. It's tiny; the sleeves are about two and a half inches long. ;-)

I've finished a pair of socks for myself, and a scarf for charity. This upcoming year I'm trying to knit from stash - no buying yarn, and use up enough yarn to empty out at least one bin (as we don't have that much room.)

I keep forgetting I started this blog. ;-) Part of my problem is that I post regularly on my other journal, so I feel as though I've said my piece then remember, a few days later, that I meant to say something crafty.

Today I received a doll quilt, in the swap exchange for the purple one I sent out. Here is a photo:

I think it's very charming and not at all colours I would have chosen myself - and I like it, so that's part of the neat thing about swaps. You find out you like things you didn't know you'd like.

So I missed posting yesterday, but work was extra long and stressful and when I came home it took me forever to stop moving fast and frantic. My entire body ached, so I didn't want to knit. I looked at my knitting, though - that counts, right?

Of course, posting every day to my craft journal doesn't mean I have to craft every day. ;-) So my post today is all about having not knit yesterday and how I have football to watch today (Go Montreal!)

So I promised a picture. The yarn is from the Kaffe Fasset Design Line from Regia. I love the irregular color changes. I deeply hate the bind off I picked (and won't be doing it for the second sock.) It curls out, making it look frilly which is exactly not what this brown sock needs. But I like the length, and did not have to make increases for my calf (I stopped before then.)

In other news, I am deeply grumpy and trying not to take it out on someone who was trying to be funny and failed.

I nearly forgot that for the next 28 days I am trying to post once a day to this journal. :-) So, today's crafty message is: I have been knitting a sock. I'm trying to make it longer than my usual anklet and so far I'm succeeding. In fact, if I knit for another inch and a half I'll have to seriously consider making increases so it'll fit over my calf. I suspect I will bind off right before that point, however, if only because if I keep knitting I will NEVER be done.

This is one reason I make so many anklets. ;-) I am a product knitter, not a process knitter.

Tomorrow maybe I will post a photo.

Today is cold and rainy and I'm home from work and all I want to do is sit and knit a sock.

And I get to! Yay!

I mailed the swap quilt to its recipient in time for it to arrive by the deadline. ;-> I think I deserve a cookie.

I'm pondering a Thing for the next several months. Since I'm not buying yarn for a very long while (due to expensive Christmas presents I've already bought) I am knitting exclusively from my stash for the next 12 months. What I'm pondering is - when it's time to begin the next project, instead of deciding on a project then hunting for yarn, I'm going to grab yarn from the stash and decide what to knit with it. I did it twice now, and it seems to be interesting and fun. Like the responsibility of deciding on what project next is taken from me (to an extent). Anyhow, we'll see how it goes.

I have enough yarn to keep me busy for three years, so there is no great danger of me running out of yarn. ;-)

So I finished a quilt for a swap I'm in; we made small quilts between 16"x16" and 24"x24". I'm pretty happy with the one I made; took almost no time at all. ;-) Gotta love four-block quilts!

I need to investigate the best way to post photos. I have a flickr account but I've never really liked having to go to flickr, upload a photo, then get the url to post, then go make my post someplace and add the img in. From what I can see, DW doesn't have a scrapbook like LJ does. Hmm, she said.

Anyhow, I'll figure something out I'm sure.

No content. Just a note to say hi, and I need to get back to watching football and knitting a sock. And I need to find some knitting, yarn, and quilting icons.
